WeatherBug Home and Accelerated Innovations Team Up to Expand Delivery of Energy Efficiency Insights

Partnership Integrates Personalized Home Insights based on Real-time, Hyper-local Weather Data with Intuitive Consumer Energy Portal
With WeatherBug Home, consumers learn why their house “behaves” the way it does in relation to the weather and how their home compares to similar homes. They can also see their forecasted energy usage for the next month and receive a virtual energy efficiency audit with customized tips for savings via a monthly WeatherBug Home Insight ScoreCard. Looking ahead, MyMeter® portal data will also be accessible via the WeatherBug Home section of the popular WeatherBug app for iOS and Android used by millions of consumers.
“On average, the weather drives approximately 50 percent of a home’s energy use, which makes live, local weather data a critical piece of the energy efficiency equation,” says Amena Ali, Senior Vice President and General Manager, WeatherBug Home. “Our partnership combines Accelerated Innovations’ energy usage visualization technology with our big data from connected home sensors and real-time weather data to provide actionable intelligence that can benefit both consumers and utilities.”
